Q: What is a keratin brow lamination?
A: A keratin brow lamination is the hottest new service to relax coarse hairs and redirect outward growing brows to lay parallel and lift downward growing brows. It is a professional semi permanent chemical treatment, that conditions, softens and creates a flexibility in the hairs allow them to style easier. Am I a candidate for lamination?
A: Everyone with brow hair is technically a candidate as it is essentially a blow out for the brows that lasts for 6-8 weeks. Those with outward growing brows, coarse brows and cowlicks can finally relax their hairs to be styled easily parallel to the skin, which helps to see the color and shape. Those wanting to style brows in a fluffier fuller style can use brow lamination to make this style easier to achieve. Those with very sensitive skin may not be candidates as it is a chemical service performed touching the facial skin. Q: How long does brow lamination last? A: Most people enjoy brow lamination for 6-8 weeks on average. Brows completely replace themselves every 16 weeks, so at 8 weeks half of the brow hairs are still flexible and style easily while the other half will be new without flexibility. Q: How often should I have a lamination? A: The earliest we recommend having lamination is 6 weeks and ideally 8. However, if your brows grow quickly and you enjoy a professional shaping rather than tweezing at home, we recommend a brow design service at 3-4 weeks and then a lamination for the next service in another 3-4 weeks. Q: What is the cost & how long does this take?
A: Brow lamination is really a combo of relaxing, tinting and shaping. It costs $150 with Jessica (no gratuity accepted). The whole process requires about 90 minutes of laying down from door to door. |
Q: How long do I have to wait to get permanent makeup on my brow area?
A: We recommend waiting at least 1 week before getting permanent make up. If you have just had permanent make up we recommend waiting at least, 4-6 weeks before getting brow lamination. Q: What are the pre-treatment instructions?
A: Stop using growth serums on your brow area at least 2 days before brow lamination. Q: What is the aftercare instructions?*
A: Twofold: hydration and styling. Hydration: Brows and facial skin underneath love hydration in general, and more after lamination. We recommend using the gentle and/or hydrating facial oils as well as moisturizer already being used by you. If you are not currently using any facial oils or moisturizer, we recommend our brow and lash serum to be used daily. Style: We highly recommend a styling product with hold for home use to maintain the look of the lamination between services. We are honored to carry West Barn Co Soap Brows in Original and Extra Hold. * We finish our laminations with a European product from Ruthie Belle that allows us to exercise, steam, get wet or wear make up same day. The war in Russia is affecting access to this product, so if access ends then the brows will need to be dry for 48 hours. |
Q: Why should I choose a keratin lash lift over a keratin lash lift with perm solution?
A: We use Cysteine based lines for a true keratin lash lift. Perm based lifts can still be called keratin lash lifts with keratin somewhere in the steps used, but perm solution is chemically compelled to dehydrate the hair to change the shape and requires daily hydration in order to keep lashes appearing their best. Cysteine does not dehydrate to change the shape, so lash health is not sacrificed. We follow innovation and currently use Elleplex Profusion, Keratin Infusion Pro and Ruthie Belle as they nourish, strengthen and condition the natural lash in the lifting process. The products we use from each line are paraben free and ammonia free. The keratin infuses during the lift and strengthens lashes making it great for dry, brittle and damaged or average lashes, so we can fix over-processed lashes from a perm lift. It has a 100% guarantee to never over process. We still recommend a growth serum for optimal enhancement of length and volume, but it is not required. Q: How long does it take and what is the cost?
A: It requires about 60 minutes of lying down with your eyes closed. It costs $180 with Jessica (no gratuity accepted). Q: How long do lash lifts last?
A: On average 4-6 weeks or half way through the lash growth cycle as 50% of the lashes will be new growth by 6 weeks. Some clients enjoy coming at 6 weeks and some enjoy the lift as it slowly sheds and is replaced by the straighter lashes. It’s personal. Q: What is a lash growth cycle?
A: On average 3-5 eyelashes fall out or shed every day and are replaced by newly grown natural lashes. By 12 weeks the lash line will be completely new. |
Q: What are the pre-treatment instructions?
A: Come to your appointment with no eye makeup (example: mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner etc.). Remove any eyelash extensions at least 7 days prior. Avoid waterproof mascara or curling lashes at least 5 days prior. Skip lash enhancing serums for 2 days before. Remove any and all makeup with an oil free makeup remover the day prior. Q: How often can I have a keratin lash lift?
A: Keratin lash lift cannot over process so it can be done anytime! We recommend 6 weeks at the earliest and most clients book 8 weeks. Q: What are the aftercare instructions?
A: None are needed, but a hydrating lash serum will help the lashes live longer and protect overall lash health. Please be gentle and avoid rough rubbing to prevent premature lash shedding. Q: How long until I can wear makeup?
A: You can wear makeup immediately. Q: How long do I need to keep my eyelashes dry?*
A: You don't have to wait because we finish our services with a product that launched in July 2021 from a European Brand, Ruthie Belle that revolutionized the lift world by sealing the cuticle and returning the pH same day. * The war in Russia is affecting this company, so if they no longer make this product lashes need to be kept dry for 48 hours. We will notify in advance if service if we are not longer able to finish with this product. |
Q: What is precision tinting for brows?
A: Precision tinting is using more than one color and selective placement of tint to achieve even coloring of fine and coarse to restore the appearance for a full looking brow. |
Q: What is precision tinting for lashes?
A: Precision tinting on lashes is a clean detailed application of tint to minimize discomfort. |
